The Program Overview

  The Shopper Sciences Credential Program is designed to equip both students and professionals with the critical skills and insights necessary to succeed in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail industries. The program is divided into three specialized areas, each offering focused credentials that build practical expertise.


  1. Retail Analytics Credential
    This area focuses on developing the analytical skills needed to drive retail performance. Learners will dive into topics such as pricing strategies, promotion analysis, assortment optimization, and space planning, along with understanding key drivers of retail success. By mastering these concepts, participants will be able to make data-driven decisions that enhance category growth and store operations.
  2. Retail Data Credential
    In this area, learners will gain proficiency in interpreting a wide variety of retail data sources, including syndicated POS data, panel data, and geodemographic insights. Additionally, students will learn how to leverage shopper loyalty metrics to turn raw data into actionable insights that improve sales and customer satisfaction.
  3. Leadership Credential
    This area focuses on leadership development and consultative selling. Learners will gain a deep understanding of shopper behavior, retailer economics, and the importance of collaborative partnerships. The coursework also emphasizes the art of storytelling with data, allowing participants to communicate insights effectively and lead with confidence.


Completion Requirements:
Participants will earn a Digital Badge after successfully completing the required credentials in each area. The program offers flexibility, allowing learners to start at different levels depending on their prior knowledge and experience, which is assessed through pre-tests.
